The NC Parent Resource Center was established in 2004 by Families in Action, Inc., a nonprofit, substance abuse prevention organization.
Our mission is to engage and support parents, schools, public and private agencies, organizations, institutions, as well as communities in their effort to reduce substance abuse through parent engagement and parent involvement. The NC Parent Resource Center accomplishes our mission by providing information, education, consultation, technical assistance, advocating for evidence-based prevention strategies, and by offering programs and services.
The vision of the NC Parent Resource Center is to expand substance abuse prevention by promoting parent-centered prevention as a best practice. Thus, we strive to significantly reduce the impact of substance abuse on individuals, families, communities and the state of North Carolina.
